When SC State House Representative District #79 incumbent Republican Bill Cotty announced in January 2008 that he was retiring from this seat, I decided to run for that office (1st time for any elected position). Democrat Anton Gunn won in the November 2008 election. Feeling that there is more work yet to be done, I have decided to run again in 2010 to bring fresh ideas and positive change to our district and state.
I will be on the June 8, 2010, Republican Primary ballot. In order to represent the people in District #79, I need your support and votes. SC State House District #79 covers Lugoff, Elgin, and Northeast Richland County along US 1 / Two Notch Road in Kershaw and Richland Counties. Help me to bring the common sense ideas of the people in District #79 to the South Carolina House of Representatives.
In working toward the 2008 election, I listened to you to understand the needs of the people and businesses in our district and their concerns for the future. Since I retired from my career in 2006, I will commit my time to work on your behalf year round to make sure your voice is clearly heard in the South Carolina Legislature. My values and proven record of leadership and service will enable me to do this. I believe in honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, and dedication to a common goal. By working together, we can make our district a finer place in which to raise a family and to shape the policies which impact our state.
